He organized and managed everything for us (from wonderful hotel at short notize, individual elephant safari and showed us local insider tips) so that we could fully enjoy our trip. Sanju Travels – Best driver in Sri Lanka

We just finished a 16-day tour of Sri Lanka with Sanju and cannot recommend him highly enough. From the moment we landed at Colombo airport until our drop-off before the flight home, everything ran smoothly. Sanju was always on time, extremely well organized, and drove safely on every road — including the challenging mountain routes to Ella and the long East Coast stretches. His English is excellent, communication via WhatsApp was easy from day one. Beyond driving, he made the trip better in ways we didn’t expect. He arranged our Minneriya Safari with a private jeep and driver so we could skip all queues. He recommended fantastic restaurants everywhere. Great experience

We had a wonderful 7 day trip of Srilanka, thanks to our driver, Dinesh, and Sanju travels. Dinesh speaks fluent English. He was punctual and always waiting for us ahead of the requested time. He was also flexible in accomodating slight detours. His 13+ years of experience in driving tourists around the country reflects in the helpful tips he provides. This was our 3rd trip arranged with Sanju during our stay in Sri Lanka. This time Sanju himself drove us in his very comfortable SUV. Good transport for Sri Lanka tour

Myself & aunty had a good pleasant transport with Sanju travels.Dinesh & Sanju drove us to Jaffna, Trincomalee, Nuwara Eliya, Bentota & Colombo.We also had a short 1 night stay at his place Bibile due to the lengthy drive back rained all the way. His wife cooked awesome Sri Lanka authentic dishes for breakfast & dinner-- food was very tasty.-Sanju & Dinesh were quite good with their driving skills in the midst of Sri Lanka traffic. Recommend for their superb service.

An excellent trip with Dilshan

We were a mixed group of Sri Lankans and Americans and had a really wonderful experience - everything was smooth from the booking to payment. We had to make a change to our itinerary/dates and that was handled graciously and smoothly. Our driver for our 5 day trip was Dilshan. He was one of the best drivers I've had in Sri Lanka (I've been visiting for years). He was extremely accommodating and especially supportive of my elderly parents. When my Mom broke her glasses he went out of his way to fix them for her right away. I hope we'll get the chance to take a trip with Dilshan again!

We organized our trip to Sri Lanka with Sanju Tours. Sanju was always available and quick in responding via email and WhatsApp and adapted the itinerary to our needs. On his initiative we stopped in Bibile, at his facility, where the welcome was warm and the dinner included was appreciated. However, this choice involved sacrificing a whole day’s journey just to reach Bibile and, in hindsight, we would have preferred to avoid this stage. Sanju was not our driver because he was busy with other customers and arranged another driver. We cannot therefore review his service as a driver, but only the friendliness and timeliness in the management and organization of the trip. Overall positive experience, but with an itinerary that could have been better optimized.

Sanju Travels = Stress free travels

We’ve just completed 10 days with Sanju from Sanju Travels. Sanju has provided us with a great introduction to the North and East of Sri Lanka. Very considerate driver and excellent tour guide

We were lucky enough to have Sanju as our driver for a fantastic 13 days in Sri Lanka. Sanju ensured that we fell in love with the country and saw all it had to offer. Whilst we had provided Sanju with a list of sights we wanted to see, he ensured we saw all that we had planned and so much more. Every drive to main destinations included suggested stop offs at temples/view points of interest en route and at both Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa Sanju included the less-visited ruins/monuments which he knew we would be interested in. He arranged and joined us for an excellent safari to Kaudulla National Park - because of the time of year we saw hundreds of elephants and water buffalos as well as stunning birds such as the Indian roller and fish eagles. Sanju also detoured on our way from Ella to Galle to ensure we saw the stunning southern beaches, stopping off where he knew there would be a good chance to see turtles. We cannot thank him enough - he is an excellent driver and took real care of us (even driving to find us on our return from Little Adam’s Peak in a torrential downpour). Sanju was also excellent and easy, upbeat company and became a good friend on our travels.

Mr. Safe driving

I just returned from a wonderful tour of Sri Lanka in August 2024. A total of 29 days I was traveling with Sanju and his taxi – from Negombo to Padikudah, from Galle to Jaffna, and (almost) everywhere in between. With absolute reliability, Sanju kept to every agreement and ensured with his calm, prudent driving style that I could feel safe at all times, even if the road traffic once became hectic. In addition to his convincing skills as a driver, Sanju was always helpful in solving minor problems during the trip, organising safaris and similar Things to do and interpreting in contact with locals. Without him, the long journey would not have been so smooth and unforgettable. I can recommend Sanju without reservation as a driver and companion!

Excellent driver and guide who added a lot to our trip to Sri Lanka

We have just completed a 28 day tour of Sri Lanka with Sanju as our driver accompanying us throughout our trip. He is, first and foremost, an excellent driver. We felt safe with Sanju at the wheel. He drives a Nissan SUV, which is very useful as it provides a higher viewpoint than other vehicles and has the ability to deal with the Sri Lankan roads which, at times, leave a lot to be desired. Sanju was there whenever we needed him, including some very early morning starts to view sunrises and evening trips to restaurants and events. We had to make a number of changes to our trip, when hotels turned out to be nothing like the pictures in their web sites (a common thing in Sri Lanka) and he was proactive in finding alternatives for us. Sanju has a deep knowledge of Sri Lanka and an excellent network of contacts. He suggested additions to our itinerary and mobilised his network to help us with bookings for trips and events. We found that we saved a lot of money by using Sanju’s contacts rather than booking through hotels or on-line sites. Overall, we strongly recommend Sanju as a driver if you want to make the best of your time in Sri Lanka

We just returned from a wonderful family trip in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka and our time there was magical. Janith,our driver and companion in these two weeks, was lovely. Super friendly, professional and good drivers

Sanju is super friendly and a very good driver. We had a long trip from Negombo to Unawatuna with him. He drives very smoothly and safely, we felt comfortable at all times. The car was also very new. In general, Sanju runs a very professional company. He always wrote back immediately and also organized a very good driver for us for another trip from Sigiriya to Colombo in no time. Avoid this company!!!

Sorry if I'll be long and boring, but I'll try to tell the totally bad experience we got due Sanju Travels incompetence! Despite to the reviewes left from other customers, I want to warn and advise others from the behave of the owner (Sanju) and the driver (Samantha). I booked on February 2023 a trip of 16 days around Sri Lanka with my girlfriend and other two friends, and I found this company with good reviews. Based on that, I booked with Sanju Travels. The deal was: 150km included per day, professional english speaker, and "first excellent service, and then payment" (written by Sanju). We started having issues since the second day (we landed on 5th August). Sanju started to insistently text me on Whatsapp and calling me because - based on his opinion - I accepted the website "terms and conditions", with an advance payment of 75% after the first day. After a long discussion of days, he finally realized that he changed the terms and conditions on June/July 2023, few months after my booking. Anyway, he pushed me all day long to get the amount, despite the bad service.…

Amazing trip! Book with Sanju!!!

Sanju did an incredible job as a driver and guide throughout Sri Lanka! He’s extremely nice and friendly – and made our honeymoon in Sri Lanka a really amazing time. We visited quite a lot during our 7 nights here, and Sanju made the trip run very smoothly. He was really good with keeping us on track, and communicating through the trip. He always knew exactly how to get us to where we were going, and stopped to show us neat things such as temples and waterfalls along the drive. The car was in perfect shape, lots of legroom, nice leather seats, strong air conditioning (very happy with that since hot outside 🙂 ), and wifi worked great! My wife and I visited here on our honeymoon, and during the trip – we visited Kadulla national park for elephant safari, hiked Pidurangala and Sigiriya, drove through Kandy, stopped at a tea plantation, took a train from Nuwara Eliya to Ella, saw nine arches bridge and little Adam’s peak, Yalla National Park, Tangalle, and Galle. We are extremely happy with Sanju, and know our trip was so fun because of all his help! Thank you Sanju!!!

Sanju is amazing!

We booked Sanju (Sanju Travels) for 5 nights. He was beyond helpful. Before we arrived he asked if we had a rough idea of what we wanted to do and told us to leave it with him. He came back with a brilliant itinerary that ticked all our boxes and more. We managed to do a whale watching tour, tea plantation, Yala National Park, two nights in Ella (Little Adam’s Peak, Nine Arch Bridge, Diyaluma Waterfall), Buduruwagala Statues and Udawalawe National Park in those 5 days. Sanju arranged all the tours for us so we didn’t have to do anything. His vehicle is clean, spacious, the AC is good and he has YouTube music, so you can play what you want. Finally, Sanju is such a nice, kind hearted person. He was very happy to help us and we shared some great moments together. We used Sanju’s services for 6 days during the midst of Sri Lanka’s economic crisis. He acted in a professional and calm manner no matter what happened to ensure we experience the best side of Sri Lanka. Trip around the Sri Lankan's ancient capital

We have made a trip of four days with Sanju and his confortable van. He has been very flexible and helpful, giving us precious tips but letting us free to decide what we wanted to do and see. Pleasant Sri Lanka Tour with Sanju Travels

We returned recently from Sri Lanka, after a nice 12-day tour, with Sanju Travels. Sanju was a very good and safe driver, reliable and ready to assist in every occasion. He helped us, also, to organize the necessary processes, such as PCR testing, to exit the country. The vehicle we used, was a new, very good and spacious van. When we needed a specific activity, such as safari in the Yala National Park, visit of a tea factory, or a local dance show in Kandy, Sanju proposed the better solutions, of excellent quality and low cost (probably 2-3 times lower than the prices we could find on the Internet). Great driver and comfortable van!

We had 8 days with Sanju driving us around in his very comfortable van. We got him to pick us up in Mirissa, then it was on to Yala, Ella, Kandy, Sigiriya and then back to the airport. He is a very safe driver and makes you feel at home in his van, with charge points, Wi-Fi access and very comfortable seating. Great guide and driver!

We were planning a two days trip in the heart of Sri Lanka (to Ella) and since we were a small group of people we decided to opt for a van transportation. Couldn’t have chosen a better driver! Sanju perfectly meet out time schedule, was always very accommodating and punctual and helped us as well organize the short trip, driving us to nice and cool sightseeing tours around the area. Fantastic trip - great driver and car

We had a fantastic 9 day trip with Sanju. A lovely man - very professional. His van is fantastic with seats that fully recline so we can sleep on the move - great for an overnight airport transfer. We will only book Sanju again for our next trips.

We had very good driver. He picked us up from the airport in the middle of the night, and he was ready to drive whole day. Also he helped us to find places to eat and stay. Sanju Driver

We got a really comfortable big car (we were expecting a sedan, but we got a minivan for the same price). Air conditioning, large places, we could sleep there from time to time. Our driver picked us up from the airport in the middle of the night, and he was ready to drive all day. We were advised by the driver in the best places to visit (we always had several options), where to sleep, where to eat and so on. I will recommend this driver to friends.

Spend an amazing end of year in Sri Lanka

We were couple and we had an amazing time with Sanju Travel. Friendly, trustworthy and most importantly, felt very safe. Didn't really planned anything till we get there but we managed to see most beautiful part of the country. Strongly recommend to people who have no idea what to do and where to go.

Sanju was with us for 11 days, travelling from Colombo to Galle, Yala, Ella, Kandy, Sigiriya, and back to Colombo. The three things you need to know are: 1) He's a nice person - nothing is to much trouble 2) He's a safe driver - no need to hang onto your armrests 3) The van is the way to go - comfy, plenty of legroom, wifi, charging facilities and power sockets. A fantastic tour of Sri Lanka in a comfortable vehicle

Sanju was a great driver for our trip around Sri Lanka. He was there to meet us at the airport with no issues with his comfortable van with reclining seats, wifi and air conditioning. Sanju drove us around for 9 days - made suggestions for places to visit and things to see, helped us buy tickets, stopped at amazing viewpoints for pictures, and even helped us improve our trip itinerary. He also arranged another driver to pick us up from our final destination after a week at the beach to take us to the airport at no additional cost. Sanju even accompanied us on a shopping trip in Kandy to help us negotiate some better prices :) We felt safe with him driving and in his company, and would recommend him to other travellers looking for a personal driver. Travels with Sanju

We had Sanju drive us for a 5 day jam packed tour of Sri Lanka and having Sanju allowed us to squeeze so much more in! We went for a van so we could recline and use WiFi and I would recommend. We told Sanju a broad outline of where we were staying and a few things we wanted to see and he took care of the rest. Got us there with no stress, making suggestions of where to stop and making sure we knew where to buy tickets and go! Definitely recommend!

Highly recommended Sanju travels in Sri Lanka. We spent 3 weeks in Sri Lanka and Sanju took us to all the destinations we visited (airport-Arugam-Sigriya-Ella-Nuwara eliya-Mirissa-Kabalana-airport). He always gave us good price, was very kind and most important he was driving very safely (there were some rainy days). He also showed us new places on the road like Tea factory and a nice lake in Nuwara eliya and always gave us tips for our new destination. We highly recommend Sanju travels for each of you that planning to visit Sri Lanka.

Clean, Aircon, Wifi, Friendly, Knowledgable & Trustworthy

Sanju initially drove my wife and me from Negombo to Willapttu, then a day later to Trincomalee via Anuradhapura. Following these two initial trips, we went on to use him frequently for other journeys all around the island. Always his price was excellent and was made to feel number one. The service was excellent. He is both a quiet driver and a knowledgeable tour guide mixed into one. Perfect for when you just want to sit and quietly enjoy a book for example. He knows all the little tricks for getting to sights (and importantly escaping them without being forced down the usual tourist trap routes). He recommends where he feels we might enjoy something, but is in no way pushy. The van also has zoned airconditioning which you can control to your own temperature. The wifi is also a neat feature that comes in useful. We'd certainly use Sanju again and recommend his services to anybody.

Very comfy ride

We drove from Ella to the Airport with sanju. He tool us in a very nice van with much space. There was also Wifi on the car and we had a really good and comfy ride to the airport. Every time again.

Unfair - gave too much money and didn't give back

We gave sanju 75000 (80k including tips) rupees instead of 17500 because we had the wrong exhcnage rate in mind and didnt double check what he offered. One day later we noticed that we gave him too much money but he said we didn't. (we recalculated out ATM pickup and the expenses which was only the transfer) and the missing amount was exactly the 80.000 rupees (including tips). He then said he will return the money even if we didn't give him (doesn't sound reasonable to me??) but later on he never replied anymore. Better search for someone else as sanju is not very trustworthy after experiencing this.. (imagine if you forget something in his car...)

Excellent travel from Colombo to Arugambay

We had a great trip from Colombo Airport to Arugambay, 8 hours on the road. Driver was funny and a really nice person caring about all our needs. The can is really comfortable with a/c. Recommended for short and long travels around Sri Lanka.

Excellent Private Driver For Sri Lanka Trip!

We booked Sanju as our driver for a few days last week in Sri Lanka. Coordinating the details was easy and Sanju was great to communicate with throughout the trip. The Party Bus

Sanju was fantastic. We have used him several times to get ourselves around the country and refer to it as the party bus. Reclining comfy seats, Wi-Fi, you can play your own music...What more could you want! Sanju is always very punctual and professional and I think he is extremely reasonably priced.

Our ride with Sanju was very comfortable. The van had air con, seats that could recline, WiFi, phone chargers etc. He was reliable and there were no hidden extra charges , which we have had with other drivers in Sri Lanka. We will be using Sanju again for our travels.

Great travels

Sanju took us on 2 trips. From Sigiria to Arugam Bay then on to Ella. He has a very comfy air conditioned van with free wifi. His English is excellent and he is very friendly and knowledgeable. Best shuttle service in Sri Lanka!

We have been using Sanju's company for about five years now to travel from Colombo to Arugam Bay return. Sanju always provides clear communication regarding the pick up and drop off times and sends photos of the vehicle we will be travelling in. If he is not the driver then he will check in with us during the journey to ensure everything is fine. If time allows it and we are interested he will take us to tourist sites along the way. He also makes sure we have enough stops for food and water. For price, service and safety we cannot recommend Sanju highly enough.

I'm not a big online reviewer but Sanju has made the transport side of our 3 week holiday so easy. We are a family of five with 3 small children (3,6 and 9) and from initial contact in UK to arrival at 4am in Sri Lanka, through our numerous journeys across the country, Sanju has been nothing but excellent in his service. His van is AC and comfortable and his driving is safe and experienced in our country where not many others are. His pricing is fair and reasonable in comparison to the many others I quoted with before and during our stay. We travelled during New Year celebrations and where Sanju was unable to accommodate us personally, he arranged other drivers and sent us photos of vans and registration plates. Everyone always arrived on time or if in traffic we were alerted well in advance to perhaps a 10-30 minute delay but this was rare. This was our first trip to Sri Lanka and I did have apprehensions about booking drivers but with a young family it proved to be the better way. Stop when you want, go which way you want and no train delays!…

Very nice driver

Sanju came to pick us up on time as agreed many months in advance. He suggested we would take off a bit earlier than planned as the forecast promised rain in the afternoon. He was a very nice and safe driver and his van was very clean and even had wifi and the possibility to charge our phones. I can highly recommend travelling with Sanju.
